SYMPTOM

When pulling away from standstill the clutch may engage very fiercely with resultant noise and judder.

REMEDY

An anti-judder spring has been developed to overcome this complaint which may be fitted upon any customer complaint.

Kit consists of the following:-

New Friction Disc

New Anti- Judder Spring

New Judder Spring Seat

REPAIR PROCEDURE

In conjunction with the installation of the new judder spring, a judder spring seat and friction disc are also required. Upon customer complaint, please order and install the countermeasure parts listed on page 2 of this bulletin, following the instructions below.

1. Remove the right hand crankcase cover as shown on page 9-3 of the workshop manual.
2. Remove the oil filter cap, clutch lifter plate, clutch springs and clutch centre as shown on page 9-4 and 9-5 of the workshop manual.
3. Remove and discard the outer friction disc and in the following order, install the new friction disc and judder spring as shown below. Be sure to install the judder spring so that the white paint mark faces towards the outside. There is an illustration and photo below to help identify the white paint mark and direction of the judder spring.

4. Install the judder spring seat and reassemble the clutch assembly, oil filter cap and right hand crankcase cover as instructed on page 9-7 to 9-12 of the workshop manual.
