This is the gear that connects the kickstart gear to the clutch gear
Sometimes this gear can have a tooth or 2 missing and means the kickstart feels like it is not connecting. This same symptom can be caused by teeth missing on the kickstart gear or the shaft locating clip not being located correctly in the crankcase
