Seized Spindle? Here's what you need to fix it instructions included.
New Yamaha Swinging Arm Repair Kit
For all models of TY125 & TY175 twinshock
from 1975 to 1985
Consists of the following-
Swing Arm Spindle and Nut-OEM
Metal Long Bush-OEM
2x Metalastic End Bushes-OEM
2 x End Covers / End Caps / Seal Guards-OEM
2 x Shims
There
is an inherent problem on the TY125, TY175 and TY250 Twinshock that
when the spindle seizes within the arm it is very difficult to remove.
The only way to remove a seized spindle is to cut through both ends of
the spindle between the frame and swinging arm with a hacksaw. The arm
can then be removed from the frame from the rear and the metal bush
with the spindle inside can then be pushed out with your finger!
DO NOT
try and remove the spindle with a big hammer & drift, blow torch or
hydraulic press all you will end up doing is twisting, warping or
breaking the arm!
This
kit contains all that is needed to replace the damaged parts and we
recommend on reassembly to use a good copper grease on all components
and to regrease at least once a year
