The book says up to 1979 but this can vary depending on which country the bike was made for. The way to tell is if the threaded hole in your brake plate is M6 then it is this cable if it is M8 then it is the later cable which we also have listed.
Doesn't fit other XT's as they use a different cable which we have listed elsewhere
