The book says 1980 onwards but this can vary depending on which country the bike was made for. The way to tell is if the threaded hole in your brake plate is M8 then it is this cable if it is M6 then it is the earlier cable which we also have listed.
Doesn't fit other XT's as they use a different cable which we have listed elsewhere
