When applied to the tyre valve the gauge pointer locks in position so it can be read away from the tyre, push the reset button and it goes back to zero.

Very accurate, I use one myself.
One word of warning. DO NOT use on a tyre with more than 20 psi in it. The gauge cannot handle more than 20psi and will stop working FOREVER
